Alison Crowe, Ash House, Sat & Sun
Alison Crowe is a designer-maker of precious metal jewellery based in Henfield, where she has lived for the past 23 years. She has been making jewellery for 15 years and her favourite medium is Sterling Silver. She also includes a range of unusual gemstones and sea glass in many of her pieces using ethically sourced materials and environmentally aware production methods, including the use of recycled silver.
Alison’s academic background in the History of Design and Material Culture (MA, Bton.) informs her creativity and the aesthetic of her jewellery pieces. Her work is contemporary in feel, stylish and easy to wear, drawing inspiration from natural, organic forms she sees in the Sussex countryside and seaside, as well as motifs from early 20th century art and design.
Alison spends most days in her home studio where she creates beautiful pieces available for sale on her website, as well as bespoke designs to customers’ specifications. Quality of finish and durability are aspects that Alison prides herself on and all items are hallmarked for quality with her own maker’s mark at the Edinburgh Assay Office.
